Notorious criminal arrested for posing with weapons on insta

Bengaluru: A 26-year-old person was arrested by the police after he was found to be possessing several sharp weapons including daggers in the city.
The accused was identified by the police as Shashank. An official from the Central Crime Branch (CCB) said that the accused was a habitual offender and he was arrested from Puttenahalli Police Station limits.
The police have seized daggers and machetes from his possession. The accused was wanted in at least seven cases including murders and kidnapping, said the official.
It was revealed that the accused was a contract-based killer and had been previously arrested for murders by Bannerghatta and Hulimavu police.
The official further said that when the cops were sent to arrest him, the accused had allegedly attempted to kill one of the personnel following which he was shot at and arrested.
However he disappeared from the radar after receiving a bail, he added. Recently, the accused had posted 'reels' of him brandishing machetes and daggers on a social media platform.
According to the police, the accused was involved in a murder case in Hulimavu in 2015. Later he was arrested after another murder in Bannerghatta in 2019.
An attempt-to-murder case was registered against the accused by Rajajinagar and Tilaknagar police based on complaints.
There was a kidnap and attempt-to-murder case filed against him at Attibele Police Station. Later, an assault case was filed against him at Puttenahalli Police Station.
Recently, the CCB had been tipped-off about his location and that he is in possession of sharp weapons.
A team of officials from the Crime Wing of the CCB West division police, tracked and arrested the accused.
