Mysuru: Nanjangud Congress MLA Darshan Dhurvanarayan and former minister and BJP leader S A Ramdas on Sunday made it clear they are not contesting the upcoming parliamentary polls.
Speaking to reporters at separate press conferences, Darshan who is the son of former MP R Dhruvanarayan, said that he is focusing his attention on the overall development of Nanjangud assembly segment besides solving the problems of people.
He said that though his father R Dhurvanarayan was elected twice on a Congress ticket from Chamarajanagar reserved parliamentary constituency, his untimely demise had forced him to contest from Nanjangud.
“As people of my constituency elected me with a huge majority, I will continue to work as MLA, I am not in the race,”, he said.
Ramdas said that though his supporters wanted him to contest as the BJP candidate in the parliamentary polls from Mysuru-Kodagu LS constituency, he is not an aspirant for the ticket.
