Bengaluru: A group of armed assailants allegedly barged into a house in Vivek Nagar and hacked a rowdy sheeter to death on Wednesday morning.

The deceased was identified by the police as Satish, 30, a resident of Maya Bazar in Bengaluru. It was revealed that he was the son of a military officer.

Speaking to News Trail, Vivek Nagar Police said that Satish had several cases including attempt-tomurder and a dacoity case filed against him. Satish used to live with his wife and children at a house near Maya Bazar here, the police added.

The incident took place around 3:30 am when a group of unidentified assailants entered Satish's house and brutally attacked him with machetes.

During the attack, Satish suffered cut and stab injuries all over his body. It was learnt that Satish was asleep in the hall while his wife and children were in the room of the house.

The assailants fled from the spot when Satish's wife and children woke up due to the noise and started screaming for help. With the help of neighbours, Satish was taken to a hospital but was declared dead by the doctors.

The body was then sent to Victoria Hospital for a postmortem. The police who inspected the spot suspect a rival gang to be involved in the attack.

During the investigation, it was found that recently Satish had a violent argument with a few people regarding a property deal.

However more details are yet to emerge as the police have intensified the investigation to identify the assailants.
