Injured four-year-old child dies

Bengaluru: The four-year-old child who had sustained severe head injuries after falling off from the third floor of a nursery school, passed away at the hospital in Bengaluru on Thursday.
Daughter of a Keralabased couple Jito Tomy Joseph and Binito Thomas, Gianna Ann Jito, was a student at Delhi Pre-School at Challikere in Kalyan Nagar, Bengaluru.
Gianna had suffered severe injuries on her skull and forehead after she reportedly fell from the third floor of her school building on Monday afternoon.
One of the family members said that following the incident, the school authorities stated that the child hit a wall at the daycare, fell and vomited.
However, the parents later found that Gianna fell from the terrace and took the child to three hospitals and finally got her admitted to Aster CMI Hospital.
It was learnt that there were only three children in the daycare the day the incident happened.
The school claimed that the CCTV was not working that day, the family member said. Suspecting foul play, the parents approached the police after which the school authorities admitted that the child had fallen from the terrace.
The Hennur Police have taken up the case and investigation is underway.
