Oust Shamanur from Cong for 'backing' BJP chief: Vishwanth

Chamarajangar: MLC H Vishwanth on Saturday demanded the Congress high command to oust veteran Congress leader Shamanur Shankarappa from the party for his call to reelect Shivamogga BJP MP B Y Raghavendra in the upcoming parliamentary polls.

Responding to Shamanur Shankarappa statement at Chamarajanagar , he condemned senior Congress leaders for issuing such statements being in Congress party, elected as legislature several times, even enjoying all power serving as minister during previous Congress government.

A day after his relative, former chief minister Jagadeesh Shettar left Congress, Shamanur issued this statement, he said. If Congress is serious about his statement, first the party should suspend him immediately, he urged.

He also said in various social media sites, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was ridiculed for consecrating Ram Temple in Ayodhya from a man who deserted his wife offering puja to Lord Ram who also deserted his wife Sita.

He stressed the need to educate children about the importance of the Indian constitution.
