Confusion over street boards with no names

Bengaluru: Take me to a place without no name,” a chorus from a song by King of Pop Micheal Jackson.

That, now has come to reality in the city as name boards leading to streets in ward number 145 Hombegowda Nagar, have no names attached.

Instead, it has become a de-facto poster holder for private entities, as the lack of action from the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has put motorists in a tizzy.

Janardhana, an auto driver, has found difficulties in finding the right turn for a few of his fares.

“Despite knowing the area well, there have been instances of infusion over navigating to the destinations. These boards have been erected since last year and nothing has been done ever since,” he said.

Dhanu Naik, an delivery executive working for an app based company, opened up his experiences delivering in Wilson Garden area.

“The lack of names has cost me a lot of time. Google maps do not show the accurate location, and the boards just do not help us,” he told News Trail.

Ranbeer, another delivery executive, also found it difficult to navigate in the area, only ten days into his job.

When News Trail reminded the Assistant Executive Engineer of the area, the official claimed that the contractor for this work had fallen ill, which led to the delay. However he ensured that the work would be completed.
