
Notorious gang nabbed for robberies, theft

Bengaluru: The city police from Madiwala Sub-division have arrested a Hyderabad-based gang of three people who allegedly targeted houses and stole valuables here.
The police said that the notorious gang was allegedly involved in 101 house break-in thefts in Bengaluru and one among the arrested accused has 50 cases filed against him.
Explaining the modus operandi of the trio, the police said that the accused used to travel in a car targeting locked houses in the daytime.
During the night, they would break into those houses and steal the valuables.
Recently, a resident of Maruthinagar had filed a theft complaint with the police after unidentified persons broke into his house and feld with valuables including gold worth Rs 3 lakh along with cash.
The Madiwala Subdivision police scanned the CCTV footage around the area to identify the accused.
After their arrest, the police learnt that the accused used to arrive in the city from Hyderabad to be involved in robberies and thefts here.
"The accused would park their car around 2 km away from the targeted house," an official said, adding that the accused used to steal the valuables and carry them to the car before driving away.
"They won't come back to Bengaluru for a few months to avoid suspicion," the official added.
During the interrogation, the police also learnt that the accused wanted to lead a luxurious life due to which they took to stealing the house and robbing pedestrians in the night here.
The accused would spend their stolen money on trips to Goa.
