Couple ends lives over financial debt

Mysuru: A married couple identified as Vishwanath (30) and his wife Sushmitha(25) committed suicide over financial debt by hanging themselves at a lodge in Alanahalli layout in the city on Thursday.

According to police, the deceased were residents of Yaraganahalli. The lenders started to harass Vishwanath to return the loan amount as his friend failed to clear the loan amount.

Vishwanath also gave his gold ornaments to be identified as Choranahalli Rajanna as a surety for his loan amount he helped his friend to borrow.

After posting as they were committing suicide upset over loan sharks harassment in social media, the couple committed suicide, according to a police.

A case relating to this has been registered at Alanahalli Police Station, and investigation is underway
