Forest guards arrest 2 people for fishing in core forest area near Kollegal

Mysuru: Forest personnel have arrested two persons for fishing in Kanivehalla, a prohibited core forest area near SatyaglaJageri in Kollegal Buffer zone on Saturday.
According to a release, the accused have been identified as Antony alias Sowri Muttu and Raja bin Perumal, both are residents of Jageri of Kollegal taluk.
The department personnel caught them red handed while fishing during their routine patrolling. They also recovered 40 kilograms of fish, a fishing net, and seized two bikes from them.
Kollegal Forest range department personnel who carried out the operation under the guidance of MM Hills Wildlife Sanctuary deputy conservator forest G Santoshkumar registered a case against them for flouting wildlife protection act 1972 norms, produced them to Court, and remanded them to judicial custody
