Bengaluru: The dense fog has disrupted flight schedules at Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport (KIA), delaying as many as 46 flights on Tuesday.
The visibility dropping to as low as around 50 metres in the morning, has impacted both domestic and international flights including a flight operated by British Airways and a cargo flight. IndiGo has advised passengers to verify their flight status before heading to the airport.
Vistara reported that flight UK845 from Mumbai to Bengaluru had to be diverted to Coimbatore due to unfavourable weather conditions at KIA.
Subsequently, the diverted flight took off from Coimbatore to Bengaluru at 9:49 am. The airport's spokesperson stated that operations had returned to normal before noon.
According to a seven-day weather report from the India Meteorological Department, mist is expected in the city until February 12.
