Bengaluru: The Karnataka government, addressing the increasing number of unemployed youth and vacancies following the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) examinations, has affirmed its commitment to filling all Panchayat Raj and Rural Development positions.

Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge shared on social media the number of KPSC qualifiers for various engineering posts, revealing the final select list for Assistant Engineer (AE), Junior Engineer (JE), and Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) roles, totalling 449 posts.

Kharge emphasised the government's dedication to promptly filling the remaining Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department vacancies.

“Last week, the Karnataka Public Service Commission released the final select list for engineers (JE, AE, and AEE), comprising a total of 449 posts: 25 for AEE, 288 for AE and 136 for JE. The Government of Karnataka is dedicated to swiftly filling all vacancies in the Department of Panchayat Raj & Rural Development. Ensuring the employability and employment of our youth is a paramount concern for the @INCKarnataka Government, as emphasized by @CMofKarnataka and Sri @DKShivakumar,” he stated on X on February 5.

Additionally, Kharge announced that an inquiry committee had been formed by the Karnataka government on Sunday, February 4, to investigate "irregularities" in the Karnataka State Electronics Development Corporation (KEONICS) during the previous Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in the state.

Allegations were made that the previous government had procured IT peripherals at inflated costs ranging from 38% to 1577%. Kharge also accused the former government of diverting public attention from its misdeeds by heavily relying on religious issues.
