Bengaluru: In a disturbing twist to the murder case of a woman in Krishnaraja Puram, the investigating officers found that the woman was allegedly killed after her husband and son attacked her with an iron rod while she was asleep.
The shocking incident had taken place around 6:20 am on February 2 at a house in Justice Bheemaiah Layout in Bengaluru, where a family of three including Chandrappa, his wife Nethra, and a 17-year-old son, resided.
Nethra, 40, died after she was brutally attacked with an iron rod following which her son surrendered to the police claiming to be the one who had killed her.
He allegedly told the police that she was not taking care of her and constantly fought with him.
The youth also claimed that his father, Chandrappa, had gone out when the murder took place. Suspicious of his statements, the police inquired with Chandrappa.
The cops also found two different fingerprints on the iron rod used in the crime. Later it was revealed that the prints belonged to Chandrappa.
Upon questioning, Chandrappa spilled the beans and stated that he had plotted along with his son to kill Nethra, after suspecting her of being involved in an affair with another man.
According to the police, the accused during the questioning claimed that Netra would stay out of the house for days and was addicted to drinking. Nethra was working at a private company in Bengaluru.
The family hailed from Mulbagal in Kolar district and that the juvenile was pursuing a diploma course at a college there. Chandrappa’s son decided to surrender himself after convincing his father that punishment for juveniles would be minimal.
Chandrappa was arrested by the police, based on a complaint filed by Nethra's brother who had also suspected Chandrappa's involvement in the murder.
