Fire breakout near Central Prison

Bengaluru: A fire broke out at a vacant site, located a few meters away from Parappana Agrahara Central Jail, after a nearby electric transformer allegedly exploded on Wednesday.

According to the sources, the blast occurred after an overhead hightension power line passing through the land got snapped.

The incident came to light after the prison officials were alarmed by the sound of a transformer blast.

The fire personnel from Electronic City Station along with prison officers arrived at the spot and doused the fire following which an inspection was carried out by the officials.
