Suttur Jathra car fest held with fervour

Mysuru: Thousands of devotees took part in the Sri Shivarathreeshwara Shivayogigala car festival organized as part of Suttur Jatra festival at Srikshetra Suttur in Nanjangud taluk on Thursday.

Devotees pulled both big and small chariots that carried the utsavamurthis of Adi Jagadguru by renting slogans.

Governor of Goa Sreedharan Pillai, former chief minister B S Yediyurappa, state ports and fisheries minister MankalaVaidya, former minister Murugesh Nirani and Suttur Muttu Seer Shivarathreeshwara Deshikendra Swami were present.

As many 35 folk troupes from inside and outside the State like Nandi Dhwaja, Garudi Gombe, Stilt Walkers, Veeragase and Dollu Kunita were the main attraction.
