Bimal Desai's generosity transforms lives of 5 Ethiopian heart patient children

Bengaluru: In a display of compassion and community collaboration, Rotary Bangalore Midtown, led by member Rtn Bimal Desai, partnered with the esteemed Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology to provide life-changing heart surgeries for five children from Ethiopia.

Recognising the urgent need for intervention in the lives of children with congenital heart conditions, Rtn Bimal Desai fully funded the project, highlighting the power of individual initiative in driving impactful change.

Facing challenges in advanced medical treatments, especially for congenital heart issues, developing countries like Ethiopia often struggle to provide necessary care.

Last year, Rotary Bangalore Midtown identified ten children from Ethiopia in need of specialised heart surgeries.

Sharing his experience, Bimal Desai said, “These children are full of innocence and enthusiasm and these surgeries bring up their chances of cervical by 60% to 65% which just fills my heart with content and joy.”
