
3 booked for extorting woman
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths arrested the rowdy sheeter, who is currently lodged in Parappana Agrahara Central Prison, and his accomplices for allegedly blackmailing a woman in the city by sending her morphed photos in a bid to extort money from her.
The accused were identified by the police as Manoj, a rowdy sheeter of Yelahanka New Town, Subhash and Yogesh.
The prime accused Manoj had called a woman in the month of August last year during which he shared a nude photo of her daughter and threatened to send it to her daughter's husband.
He had then extorted Rs 40,000 from the victim. Similarly this year on February 9, Manoj’s associate made a WhatsApp call to the victim and demanded Rs 5 lakh not to leak the nude photo to her daughter's husband.
On February 12, Manoj himself made a call and threatened the victim and her daughter to pay up.
A case had been registered at the Yelahanka New Town Police Station following which the matter was brought to the notice of the Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda.
