Bengaluru: A week after the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) sealed the gates of Rockline Mall on Tumakuru Road, the Karnataka high court on Tuesday, had revoked the order, and reportedly said that the doors be unsealed.
The Mall, owned by film producer Rockline Venkatesh was closed on Wednesday February 14 by the BBMP on the grounds of decade long tax arrears.
Venkatesh reportedly filed a writ petition to the court, in which the latter had allowed the former to challenge the order. Allegedly, Rs. 11.51 crore is still yet to be paid to the BBMP.
Despite continuous reminders, The producer allegedly continued to ignore it, prompting the officials to seal the mall.
This is not the first time Venkatesh has approached the cour t. Reportedly, In 2015 the Palike issued a notice to pay Rs. 2.63 crore including interest, in which Venkatesh had reportedly approached the court.
However, his appeal was dismissed.
