
Woman accuses Kannada actor of cheating, blackmailing for roles in movies

Bengaluru: A Kannada film side actor has been booked for cheating a woman by promising her a role in the movies.
The 27-year-old complainant, whose identity remains protected, has made allegations of blackmail against the actor, Santosh. An FIR has been registered at Jnanabharathi Police Station.
It is learnt that the accused has acted in a few Kannada and Tamil films. The complainant works as a beautician.
According to the victim, she is said to have met actor Santhosh in 2019. The accused allegedly promised her roles in movies and came close to her.
The victim also claimed that the accused promised to marry her and took her to various lodges in the city and developed a physical relationship.
The complainant also accused Santhosh of recording their private and intimate moments on his mobile phone.
However after three years, the victim started avoiding Santhosh as she did not get any roles in the movies. Meanwhile, the victim claims that Santhosh secretly married another girl.
The victim stated that on February 14, Santhosh came to her house and fought with her.
The victim claims that Santhosh asked her to meet him whenever he wished or else threatened to send her private videos to her family and friends.
After the incident, the woman got treatment at a hospital and filed a police complaint at Jnanabharathi Police Station. A case has been registered under IPC sections 354 (criminal force on women), 323(voluntarily causing hurt), 420 (cheating) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
The police are in the process of issuing a notice to the actor to appear before them for questioning.
