Hitachi Rail STS India donates ambulance to Sanjay Gandhi Institute as CSR initiative

Bengaluru: In a display of medical philanthropy, Hitachi Rail STS India, a leading integrated rail business, recently donated a Force Ambulance to the Sanjay Gandhi Institute of Trauma and Orthopedics in Bengaluru.

The formal handover ceremony took place on Sunday, with Manoj Kumar Krishnappa, Director and Head of Hitachi Rail STS India, presenting the keys to Dr Prakashappa.T.H, Director of the institute, as part of its CSR 2023-2024 initiative.

World no 1 Doubles Tennis Player, Rohan Bopanna, graced the event as the Chief Guest, alongside other guests, including Sunil Yajama, Former Indian Coach and Davis Cup team, and Dr Madan Ballal, Head of the Department of Sports Injury and Arthroscopy.

The Force Ambulance, equipped with oxygen and partial ICU facilities, aims to enhance medical and relief services for the people of Bengaluru.

It will play a crucial role in transporting patients in need of immediate treatment to the hospital and facilitating medical care during sports tournaments in the city.

Expressing gratitude, Dr Prakashappa highlighted the significance of the donation, stating, “We’re privileged and happy for the support given to us by Hitachi Rail STS. It will help us render better services to people in an emergency.”

Manoj Kumar expressed his pleasure in supporting the Sanjay Gandhi Hospital and its commitment to serving society and the underprivileged.

He stated, “I feel overwhelmed to share this gift with the people of Bengaluru in need of emergency medical care and immediate treatment of sports-related injuries.”
