KSRTC announces 1500 additional buses for Mahashivaratri

Bengaluru: In preparation for the upcoming Mahashivaratri Festival on March 8, 2024, and the subsequent weekend on March 9, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has unveiled plans to operate 1500 additional buses.

This initiative aims to facilitate travel for the public during the festive period. KSRTC has strategically organised these services to connect Bengaluru with various destinations.

Special buses from Bengaluru Kempegowda Bus Station will be deployed to significant locations, including Dharmastala, Kukkesubramanya, Shivamogga, Hassan, Mangaluru, Kundapura, Shringeri, and more.

Additionally, services from Mysuru Road Bus Station will cater to routes such as Mysuru, Madikeri, Hunsur, and Piriyapatna.

To enhance accessibility, premier special buses will operate from BMTC Bus Station, Shanthinagar, connecting to destinations in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

Commuters can conveniently book computerised reservation tickets in advance and enjoy discounts on fares.

Discounts of 5% and 10% are offered for group bookings, encouraging passengers to plan their onward and return journeys together.

Advanced reservation counters are set up in key cities of neighbouring states, facilitating passengers from Tamil Nadu, ndhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Puducherry, Maharashtra, and Goa.
