Bengaluru: Priyank Kharge, the Karnataka Minister, addressed the controversy surrounding the Rameshwaram Cafe blast probe with a firm dedication to transparency and due process.

Amid speculations and political uproar, Kharge's measured responses aimed to instil confidence in the investigative process and emphasised accountability from all parties involved.

Supporting the Union Home Ministry's decision to transfer the case to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Kharge conveyed a sense of cooperation and trust in law enforcement.

Asserting the state's readiness for a thorough investigation, Kharge stated, ‘There is nothing wrong in it,’’ to dispel doubts about the decision's legitimacy.

However, he did not hesitate to criticise the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for relying on a private forensic lab report on alleged proPakistan slogans.

Expressing concerns about the report's credibility, Kharge questioned the wisdom of unquestionably accepting its findings.

His call for a meticulous examination of evidence highlighted the gravity of the accusations and the need for impartial scrutiny.

Kharge also scrutinised the involvement of an RSS-backed foundation in commissioning a private company for forensic analysis, casting doubt on their motives and advocating for greater transparency.

He challenged the BJP's alignment with this foundation, seeking clarity on their relationship and interests in the matter.

Kharge's unwavering commitment to upholding justice and accountability reflected a deep-seated dedication to the welfare of the state and citizens.

Cafe faces delayed reopening amid ongoing investigation

The planned reopening of the cafe was initially scheduled for March 8 but has been indefinitely postponed due to the ongoing investigation into a recent bomb blast incident that rattled the establishment on March 1.

Despite the owner's initial intention to resume operations on Shivaratri day, the Police Department has intervened, preventing the cafe from reopening, citing the unresolved nature of the case.

Faced with this impasse, the management board utilised social media channels to inform patrons about the postponement of the reopening date, recognising the need to await clearance from the authorities.

Despite an outpouring of support from thousands of fans on social media, expressing solidarity with Rameswaram Cafe and rejecting threats, the cafe remains closed until further notice.

In a subsequent social media update, the Rameswaram Cafe team reiterated the continuation of the closure, emphasising their commitment to prioritising safety and cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

Notably, the earlier announcement of the March 8 reopening date has been retracted, indicating the uncertainty surrounding the timeline for resuming operations.

While the specific date for reopening remains undisclosed, the cafe's management holds onto hope for a swift resolution to the investigation, allowing them to restore normalcy and welcome patrons once again.

In the meantime, the cafe's loyal supporters persist in rallying behind them, showcasing resilience in the face of adversity and a steadfast resolve to overcome challenges together.
