Bengaluru: As the struggle for water intensifies in the city, even Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's residence relies on tanker supplies, showcasing the severity of Bengaluru's water scarcity.

In response to the crisis, the BJP announced a protest on Monday, criticizing the state government's handling of the issue.

The protest, featuring a sit-in at Freedom Park, Bengaluru, at 11 am, aims to draw attention to the Congress's alleged mismanagement, particularly their failure to finance bore well drilling and fulfil promises.

Opposition leader R. Ashok attributes Bengaluru's water woes to the government's inefficiency, questioning the effectiveness of their assurances.

"We are seeing this for the first time because the Congress government led by Siddaramaiah, has given more than 5 TMC of water to Tamil Nadu. So we are facing the problem in Mandya, Mysore and Bengaluru. On Monday, we will protest against the failure of the government," he said.

The city's water crisis has not only impacted its local reputation but has also drawn international attention, with DK Sivakumar and CM Siddaramaiah's residences facing water scarcity.

Critics argue that the government's inefficiency calls for dismissal, likening their promises to bubbles on water. Despite prior warnings about water shortages, the government has been slow to take decisive action, leading to increasing calls for immediate temporary relief.

MP Tejaswi Surya has issued a one-week ultimatum, threatening mass protests in front of Vidhana Soudha if prompt action is not taken. Despite appeals to officials, the water problem persists.

Today, residents of Tippenahalli in the Yeshavantpur Assembly Constituency expressed their frustration by adorning empty water pots with flowers and sandalwood, symbolizing their discontent with the sporadic tap water supply.
