Suresh hints JD(S) workers should join Congress

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: Suresh hints JD(S) workers should join Congress Bengaluru Rural MP DK Suresh suggested that JD(S) workers in his constituency join the Congress.

He reasoned that since the regional party patriarch HD Deve Gowda’s son-in-law Dr CN Manjunath would contest on a BJP ticket, it was an indication that JD(S) was losing vitality as a political party.

He made the comments to mediapersons in Channapatna town in Ramanagara district after a programme on Thursday.

“The son-in-law is intelligent. He took this decision, thinking Deve Gowda and Kumaraswamy’s party is not in a good state,” Suresh said.

“Under these circumstances, the JD(S) workers should take their own call,” he added.

However, Suresh said that he welcomed Manjunath’s entry into politics, expressing fondness for Deve Gowda’s family.

He added that the BJP’s denial of tickets to MysuruKodagu MP Pratap Simha and Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel was unfortunate because they had helped build the party.

The MP also took a potshot at former BJP state president KS Eshwarappa who has been threatening to field his son as an independent Lok Sabha candidate from Shivamogga since the ticket was given to incumbent BY Raghavendra.
