Mysuru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday promised that all the five poll guarantees schemes will be implemented during the full five-year term of his government.

He was speaking after inaugurating a guarantees scheme beneficiaries convention held at Maharaja College grounds in the city.

He condemned political parties like the BJP and JD(S) for lying to the people that his government would stop poll guarantee schemes after the Lok Sabha polls.

The CM said his government has implemented the guarantee schemes inspired by the European government model of Universal Basic Income for poor families in the state.

Over 1.20 crore families or 4.60 crore beneficiaries are benefitting from the implementation of the guarantee schemes, he said with each family benefitting to the extent of about Rs 60,000 every year.

His gover nment had spent Rs 36,000 crore for the implementation of the poll guarantees and has set aside Rs 52,009 crore for implementation of the guarantees schemes in the 2024 -25 financial year, the CM said.

With the implementation of the schemes, the per capita income, purchasing power of families and GST tax collection has increased, boosting business and tourism in the state, Siddaramaiah said.

People should support his party candidates in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls to continue the pro-poor schemes initiated by the Congress government, the CM said.

He also lashed out at PM Narendra Modi for not keeping his promises like ushering in “acche din”, creating two crore jobs for unemployed youth besides depositing Rs 15 lakh in the bank accounts of countrymen by bringing back black money stashed in foreign banks.
