Man swindles Rs 3.9 lakhs, offers movie role

Bengaluru: A man pretending to be a casting director for an upcoming Rajnikanth movie allegedly conned a city-based woman of Rs 3.9 lakh by promising a role in the film.

An FIR has been registered at Mico Layout Police Station based on the complaint filed by the victim.

The victim alleged that the accused, identified as Suresh Kumar, met her on a social media platform claiming to be a casting director and offered auditions to aspiring actresses.

However, he then demanded large sums of money from them, falsely stating it was necessary for their casting considerations.

The victim had responded to Suresh's Instagram ad and ended up losing Rs 3.9 lakh to him for alleged casting expenses. The police have launched a probe to track the accused.
