Patna: The major allies of the ruling NDA in Bihar - Bharatiya Janata Party and Janata Dal (United) – on Thursday renewed their attack on Lalu family after an FIR was registered against RJD MLA Tej Pratap Yadav for allegedly hiding details of property in the affidavit filed during the assembly election in Bihar in 2020.
The FIR has been registered under the Representative of People Act on the orders of the Election Commission and on the basis of sub-divisional officer Brajesh Kumar’s complaint.
In his complaint, Kumar alleged Yadav has concealed details of his property in Gopalganj.
Taking a dig at Lalu’s family, JD (U) chief spokesperson and former minister Neeraj Kumar sarcastically remarked, “Amassing wealth in politics is the political DNA of Lalu family and Tej Pratap is only carrying forward his family’s tradition.”
BJP spokesperson Prem Ranjan Patel said, “Lalu family only knows how to amass wealth, protect it and hide it and establish itself in the politics through ill-gotten money as it has no concern for Bihar and people of the state.”
RJD spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari said that RJD has full faith in the judiciary and further action will be taken in this regard by Tej Pratap as per the judicial norms.
The FIR has been registered against Tej Pratap at Rosera police station in Samastipur district under section 125A of the Representation Act, 1951.
