3 held for thrashing shopkeeper over playing loud music

Bengaluru: An altercation between a group of youths and a shopkeeper over playing loud music turned violent in Nagarathpet, leading the police to arrest three accused for their involvement in a street fight.
The incident took place on Sunday around 6:20 pm when G Mukesh, 26, a mobile phone accessories seller was at his shop, Krishna Telecom Shop, in Siddanna Lane in Bengaluru.
It was learnt that he was playing bhajans on a loud speaker when a group of five youths approached him and asked him to turn off the loudspeaker.
When the victim refused to do so, the enraged youths allegedly hurled abuses at him leading to a fight between them. The neighbouring shop keepers rushed to Mukesh's help and stopped the fight.
An injured Mukesh was taken to Victoria Hospital for treatment. A CCTV camera installed inside the shop helped the police in identifying the accused.
Around 10:30 pm, the victim approached the Halasuru Gate Police and filed a complaint stating that the accused dragged him out of his shop and assaulted him with sticks for playing music loudly.
Taking up the matter seriously, the police traced and nabbed three accused identified as Suleman, Shahnawaz and Rohith, so far. Efforts are on to nab the others including Dyanesh, Taruna, who are still absconding.
A resident of Cubbonpet, Mukesh, had been keeping his shop in Nagarathpet for the past several years.
The police later registered an FIR under 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object), 307 (attempt to murder) and other relevant sections of the IPC in the matter based on Mukhesh's complaint.
The accused have been booked under various sections including attempt to murder (IPC 307). Further investigations are on.
