At least 6 rowdy sheeters in the city have licensed guns

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: The City Police Commissioner B Dayananda said that an inquiry has been initiated to ascertain the circumstances under which firear ms licenses were granted to history sheeters in the city.

Following routine operations and raids on rowdy sheeters in the city ahead of elections, the Bengaluru police found that at least six history sheeters possess licensed firearms here.

During a conference, the city top cop said that an investigation has been launched into the matter and in case any irregularities were found, strict action will be taken as per the law.

"If they were issued gun licenses illegally, we will definitely take stringent action against the erring official," the commissioner said.

Dayananda explained that the police can still cancel the licenses of such firearms.

Citizens possessing licensed guns were instructed to deposit their weapons at the jurisdictional police in the wake of the LS elections.
