Separate incidents claim lives of 2 SSLC students hours ahead of board examinations

Bengaluru: Two SSLC students scheduled to take their board examinations which started on March 25 ,tragically passed away in unrelated incidents.

One was involved in a fatal accident, while the other reportedly took his life.

Sixteen-year-old Parasuhram Babu was discovered dead at his home in Yadehalli, Sagar taluk, on March 25, just hours before the SSLC exams were set to commence.

Babu hailed from a family that had relocated from Dandeli in Uttara Kannada and was a student at Karnataka Public School in Yedehalli.

He reportedly took his life after sending a message to one of his sisters on the night of March 24. The Anandapura police were informed on March 25 and are currently gathering information from the family members before registering an official complaint.

In a separate incident, Ummai Khulsum, also 16 years old hailing from Jambaraghatta in Bhadravati, was waiting for a bus at Vittalapura on March 24 when she was hit by a car and died at the scene.

She was en route to a relative’s house in Shivamogga and was hit by a car travelling from Channagiri to Shivamogga. The Holehonnur police have initiated a case in the matter.
