Bengaluru: A day after a 30-yearold woman was found dead in her house, the Parappana Agrahara Police solved the mystery by arresting her sister along with her friend for allegedly murdering the woman and attempting to cover up the incident.

Gudiya Devi was found dead on Monday morning and the incident came to light after her sister, Geetha Kumari, alerted the jurisdictional police of the matter.

Gudiya Devi and her sister, Geetha Kumari used to stay at a flat in Singasandra, and were into garments business.

Recently one of their relatives, Rajesh Kumar, 29, started living with them and took up a job as a food delivery executive.

Speaking to News Trail, a senior official from the police station said that the murder took place on Sunday night after the trio got into a heated argument.

Around 8:15 pm, Gudiya Devi, who was suffering from a partial hearing loss, was talking loudly on her mobile phone which infuriated her sister Geetha Kumari.

The sisters got into a heated debate prompting Rajesh Kumar to intervene. After Gudiya Devi rebuked him for his intervention, an angry Kumar strangled her until she collapsed.

A terrified Geetha with the help of Kumar, shifted Devi to hospital where the doctors declared her dead.

Geetha filed a complaint with the police alleging that her sister had died after consuming some pills.

Suspicious, the police initiated a probe and sent the body for a post-mortem analysis after which it was revealed that Devi had been strangled to death.

The police picked up Kumar for questioning who confessed to have strangled Devi.
