Mysuru Cong candidate conducts campaign at Kukkarahalli lake, appeals to morning walkers

Mysuru: Congress candidate for Mysuru Lok Sabha constituency M Lakshman conducted his campaign early on Sunday at Kukkarahalli lake in the city. He appealed to the morning walkers to elect him to the Lok Sabha.

Kukkarahalli lake which is located in the heart of the city is among the most popular spots for morning walkers.

He was greeted by the public including the student community besides many first-time voters, some of whom took selfies with him.

Lakshman was accompanied by Congress leaders BM Ramu, Former mayor B K Prakash and Purushottam among others. Laxman also conducted the campaign in various wards of Krishnaraja assembly segment accompanied by former MLA M K Somashekhar, leaders like former MUDA president H V Rajiv, K V Mallesh and others.

The candidate said his party will fill all backlog vacancies in posts reserved for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes within a period of one year.

It will also abolish the contractualisation of regular jobs in government and public sector enterprises and ensure regularisation of such appointments.

He promised to assist students and youth belonging to minorities to take full advantage of the growing opportunities in education, employment, business, services, sports, arts and other fields.

He said he would restore the Maulana Azad Scholarships for study abroad and increase the number of scholarships.
