Bengaluru: A food delivery executive was arrested by the anti-narcotics wing of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) on charges of drug peddling in the city.

The accused was identified as Bhabhajyothi Doley, hailing from Assam. He was working as a delivery executive in Bengaluru for the last 12 years.

With his arrest, the police claimed to have seized marijuana worth Rs 10 lakh from his possession.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused would source the drugs from his native place and store it at his rented accommodation and sell it to his customers while on work to avoid attention.

The accused has been booked under the (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) NDPS Act and taken into custody to ascertain his network. In a separate incident, another team of the CCB anti-narcotics team arrested a Nigerian national and recovered MDMA crystals worth Rs 4 crore from him.

The accused, identified as Henry Chukwuemeka, came to Bengaluru on a business visa four years ago and overstayed after the expiry of his travel documents. The accused stayed in a rented accommodation at Banaswadi and sourced the drugs through courier.
