Bengaluru: National Pet Day is a paw-some celebration of our beloved furry friends. This day allows cherishing the joy, love, and companionship pets bring into our lives.

In today’s realm of pet influencers, the role extends far beyond sharing adorable snapshots of furry friends.

It is a space where education, advocacy, and a deep understanding of animal welfare intersect.

A journey of evolution

A pet influencer from Bengaluru Tiu Hazra told News Trail that for several pet influencers, the journey always begins with a connection to animals and their pets since childhood.

She shared, “As our understanding of pet care evolves, so too does our approach to pet ownership. The conversation revealed how engagement with fellow influencers and participation in specialised programs have revolutionised the way pet owners perceive their role.”

She added, “As a pet parent for years, the landscape has changed dramatically. The wealth of knowledge available now, from nutrition to training techniques, has completely transformed how I care for my furry companion”.

Expanding horizons

One of the most notable transformations witnessed by pet influencers according to Tiu is the broadening scope of pet advocacy.

Beyond the traditional avenues of shelter adoption, the concept of virtual adoption has emerged as a powerful tool for supporting animals in need.

“While traditional adoption is well-known, virtual adoptions offer a unique opportunity to make a difference from afar. It is heartening to see how technology is bridging the gap for those unable to adopt physically, said the pet influencer,” she said.

When it comes to emotional support and therapy, the conversation inevitably turns to pet breeds. However, Tiu who runs and handles the Instagram page @postothezippypuppy said, “Emotional connection knows no bounds and transcends breed stereotypes.

“Any pet has the potential to provide comfort and companionship. It is about finding the right fit for your lifestyle and needs, whether it’s a small apartment or a sprawling countryside.”

As she advocates for responsible pet ownership, Tiu offers advice to prospective pet parents.

She urges people to focus on adoption from reputable sources and diligent research into breed characteristics, they stress the importance of creating a nurturing environment for our furry companions.

“Understanding the needs of your chosen breed is paramount. It is not just about bringing a pet into your home it is about providing a loving and supportive environment tailored to their needs,” said the influencer.
