Dejected being slapped, man dies in sleep

Bengaluru: A 33-year-old man died under mysterious circumstances after he was allegedly slapped and abused by a couple over a trivial row in Belathur Colony on the outskirts of the city.

The deceased was identified as Prabhu Ram Prasad, a resident of a village in Belthur.

According to the sources, he had gone to a temple along with his son for a local festival on Sunday.

While riding, their bike encountered an issue forcing Prasad to stop and check the vehicle.

However during this time, a car coming behind touched Prasad's bike leading to an argument between him and the car driver, who was a woman residing near Prasad's house.

When Prasad returned from the temple, the woman's husband, Anil, engaged him in a violent war of words following which Prasad was slapped four to five times by Anil.

Dejected over the incident, Prasad returned home and slept off. Around 1 am, the family found that he had died in his sleep.

A case was registered with the Kadugodi Police and further investigation is still on.
