Rahul accepts 'public debate' offer; will Modi turn up?
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday declared his readiness to engage in a debate with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on public issues. However, he expressed doubts about Modi's willingness to participate in such a discussion.
During an event in Lucknow, Rahul said, "I am 100% ready to debate with the Prime Minister on public issues on any platform. But I know him, he will 100% not debate with me and he will not turn up."
Rahul did not stop there; if the Prime Minister does not want to argue with me, he may debate with our president, Mallikarjun Kharge.
Former Editor of 'The Hindu' N Ram, former Supreme Court judge Madan Lokur and former Delhi High Court Chief Justice A P Shah had asked the two leaders to participate in a debate on a non-commercial and non-partisan platform, saying they have only heard allegations and challenges from either side but no meaningful responses.
