‘Krishikalpa’ launched in the city
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: Krishikalpa, a nonprofit organisation dedicated to empowering Farmers-Producers Organisations (FPO) was launched here on Thursday (May 9) at a function held at the RV Dental College campus.
The initiative is supported by the National Bank of Agriculture and rural Development (NABARD). The body aims to transform farmers and producers into rural businesses and boost their income.
The launch event brought together key stakeholders in the agricultural sector for collaboration. The event celebrated the spirit of entrepreneurship within the FPO ecosystem and highlighted the critical role FPOs play in connecting farmers with markets and resources.
Dignitaries including Mr. Manoj Ahuja, Secretary, Agriculture, Govt. of India; Mr. Shaji K V, Chairman NABARD; Dr. Shalini Rajneesh, Additional Chief Secretary & Development Commissioner and Mr. L. K. Atheeq, Additional chief secretary, Govt of Karnataka were present at the launch of the accelerator programme.
Mr. Prashanth Prakash, Chairman, Krishikalpa, introducing the initiative, said, it would provide the market orientation training to farmers and producers, will focus on generating additional income through output business development, will impart entrepreneurial leadership skills, provide key market insights, and connect farmers and producers with agri-tech startups and processors.
