BBMP implements technology- driven flood management

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: After a long stretch without any rain, the city witnessed moderate to heavy spells of rain in the past few days which led to multiple complaints to the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) on waterlogging, uprooted trees and so on.

In response to these complaints, the civic body asserted that they have implemented strategies to address flood management.

Some key initiatives include ongoing desilting operations in stormwater drains, secondary drains, and culverts to ensure smooth water flow.

Efforts are also underway to clear debris near road shoulder drains. The corporation is also conducting regular cleaning activities on main and sub-arterial roads.
