Bengaluru hospitals receive hoax bomb threats
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: Several hospitals in Bengaluru reported receiving hoax bomb threats through emails on Sunday.
According to sources, an anonymous email claiming that a bomb has been planted at several hospitals in the city and would go off in a few minutes, was received around 8 pm by a Special Branch (SB) of police in Bengaluru.
The mail included names of several popular hospitals including St Philomena's hospital in Nagawara. In a swift action, the police along with the dog squad and bomb disposal teams searched the hospitals for any explosives.
However nothing suspicious was found in any of the hospitals and the threat was termed as a 'hoax.' Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda said that a case has been registered and investigation is still on in the matter.
