Man arrested for stealing valuables from temples
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: Basaveshwara Nagar police arrested a man for allegedly stealing valuables to the tune of Rs 38 lakh from houses and temples in the city.
Following the arrest, the police recovered 632 grams of gold jewellery and 1 kilogram of silver ornaments that the accused had stolen from temples. Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda said that the accused was arrested from a place near Shankar Mutt in Bengaluru.
The police had received a tip-off from credible sources about his movements in the city. After stealing from houses and temples, the accused had pledged the valuables with different pawn brokers in Tumakuru, Mandya, Mysuru and Bengaluru. All the stolen valuables have been recovered, said the police.
