Ab ki baar INDIA 300 paar, says upbeat DKS
Lucknow, NT Bureau: Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Thursday claimed that the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) would win more than 300 seats and form the government at the Centre.
Addressing the media at a press conference organised by Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee, he said that the anti-incumbency that the ruling BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi had gathered over 10 years would prove to be too much.
“I strongly believe that the Modi led NDA (National Democratic Alliance) will not come to power this time. The INDIA block will come to power with 300 seats and we will take the country forward together,” Shivakumar said.
He claimed that the BJP hadn’t fulfilled their promises in their two terms, adding that the Congress 'Nyay' schemes presented an optimistic alternative.
The Karnataka Congress chief also blamed the Union government for JD(S) MP and rape accused Prajwal Revanna fleeing the country.
“Our government has formed an SIT (Special Investigation Team) to investigate the case. The incident has shamed the entire country. Modi is hesitant to take action as he (Prajwal) is an MP from the alliance partner (JDS). The Centre has let him escape. We have issued an (Interpol) Blue Corner notice and we will nab him soon,” Shivakumar said.
The Deputy CM blamed Modi for “misrepresenting” the Other Backward Classes (OBC) matrix in Karnataka and the share of Muslims in it.
“The PM is making false allegations about Muslim reservation. Muslims have been given reservation for the last 30 to 40 years (in Karnataka). He is raising this issue for political gain,'' Shivakumar said.
