Bengaluru, NT Bureau: The efforts by Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) to provide treated water to industries in the Peenya industrial area via pipelines was lauded by Ramesh Chandra Lahoti, President, Federation of Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) on Thursday.

Ram Prasath Manohar, Chairman, BWSSB had called on industries to use more treated waterprovided by the Board.

“Around 1200 million litres (MLD) of treated water is readily available. This will reduce the burden on the water sourced from River Cauvery,” he had said.

He had also called on industrialists to support the BWSSB’s cause to make Bengaluru a ‘water surplus city’ in the next couple of years. Lahoti, assured that industrial units in the city will use treated water and adhere to the ‘panchsutra’ rule.
