Cops detain youth who planned to invade IPL match
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: The Cubbon Park police booked and detained a youth who had threatened to breach the security and invade the pitch during the IPL 2024 match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at M Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Saturday.
Several young people become "social media influencers" due to their urge to gain instant fame, which further gives rise to a weird obsession in other people who watch their videos.
With the free access to technology, miscreants find unique ways to land into trouble. A few days ago, a video went viral on social media, especially on X (formerly Twitter), where an influencer promised his fans that he would run across the stadium after he hit 50,000 followers on his Instagram.
He added that he booked one of the stands where he can easily jump the barricade and invade the pitch. The video was spread like wildfire and it seemingly brought to the attention of the Bengaluru Police, who have been deployed to oversee the security at the stadium.
"Nice try, Buddy! But attempting to breach security during #IPL is a guaranteed six straight into our custody. Sorry, mate, you're stumped!," informed the Bengaluru Police through their X handle.
The netizens appreciated the action taken by the Bengaluru Police against the crazy fan. "Mess with Namma Police and you will land into trouble," a netizen commented on the post.
