BJP holds protest for distribution of drought relief, milk incentives to farmers

Mysuru, NT Bureau: District BJP Raitha Morcha activists held protest outside the office of new deputy commissioner office at Siddarthanagar in the city on Saturday urging the state government for effective disposal of drought relief money released by the centre.

They also shouted slogans against the government for not releasing the incentives to the milk producers besides the arrears to the Farmer Producers Organization registered in the state. They condemned the government for its farmers decision.

They alleged that the state government has not released the incentives to milk producers Rs 5 per litre it announced to dairy farmers from last eight months.

They accused that though the union government has released nearly 253 crore arrears money to over 10 lakh Farmers Producers Organization in the country including 12000 In Karnataka, but the state government has not the released the arrears money for them.

They held the protest as part of the statewide protest call given by their state unit in the state. They said that though the union government had released Rs 3454crore drought relief funds under National Disaster Relief Fund to the drought hit farmers of the state, but the drought relief money not yet released to all the affected farmers.

As the farmers of 226 taluk were affected by the drought, state government must start distributing drought relief. As farmers were also affected by rain fury, also urged the State government to announce a special package for both rain and drought-hit farmers.
