18 mm rain waterlogs B’luru, yellow alert issued
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: Bengaluru witnessed 18 mm of rainfall till early Monday morning, India Meteorological Department (IMD) said, adding that Bengaluru Urban district has been issued a 'yellow alert' for Tuesday.
The rains, which were heavy in some areas, caused waterlogging while an overspill from a Storm Water Drain (SWD) caused sewage water to flow onto the streets in Yelahanka.
Meanwhile, Yellapur town in Uttara Kannada district received 10 cm of rain, the highest in the state. Pilgrim town MM Hills in Chamarajanagar district received 8 cms of rain, the second highest.
IMD issued orange alerts to districts such as Hassan, Chikkamagaluru, Shivmogga and Mandya.
