5-year-old boy falls into sump, dies

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: In a tragic incident, a fiveyear-old boy died after he accidentally fell into a water sump at a house in Ayyappa Nagar in KR Puram Police Station limits.

The incident took place on Monday evening within a few minutes when Subin was left alone at home, while her mother had gone to a nearby shop. As the boy was searching for his mother at home, he slipped into the halfopen sump and drowned.

After she returned, the mother searched for the boy and later found him dead inside the sump. The police said that Subin was the only son of a couple who hailed from Nepal and had come to Bengaluru for work four years ago.

They lived in a rented house on the second floor. The boy’s father, who worked at a hotel, was away at work.
