Mysuru DC asks officials to check water contamination

Mysuru, NT Bureau: Deputy Commissioner K V Rajendra on Wednesday directed officials to take all steps to ensure potable drinking water to all residents besides ensuring their water supply is not contaminated.

He was speaking at a video conference held to discuss drinking water related issues. He asked all civic bodies and taluk officials to take immediate steps to redress the problems related to contamination of water after receiving complaints from the public and also restore damaged drinking water supply and UGD pipelines.

He also asked officials of all villages including Asha activists to go door to door to spread awareness among villagers re - garding safe methods of water storage and about cleanliness.

As complaints of gastro enterties are being reported due to climate change, he directed the taluk health officers to reserve five beds exclusively in every taluk government hospital to take care of such patients.
