Check quality of drinking water on regular basis: ZP CEO

Mysuru, NT Bureau: Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Dr K M Gayathri on Saturday directed Taluk Panchayat executive officers to constitute village- wise team to check quality of drinking water samples supplying to villagers from its sources.

Speaking at the meeting with taluk Panchayat executive officers, rural drinking water supply and Sanitation department officials held at Zilla Panchayat Hall, she said the committee must collect the water samples right from its sources, distribution and supply level, test it and then release water to all household connections on regular basis as per the directions from state government.

She also asked officials to check complaints of contaminated water, ensure that drinking water, sewer pipeline, underg round drainage are not damaged. They must take up immediate repair work by bringing it to the notice of senior officials.
