B'luru: Fouryear-old girl hit by car, dies

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: In a heart-rending incident, a four-year-old girl died while another suffered severe injuries after they were knocked down by a speeding car in Tavarekere area off Magadi Road Saturday evening.

The two children were cousins and were on the way home when a negligently driven car hit them Saturday evening. One of the girls, Kushmita, was rushed to NIMHANS where she succumbed to severe head injuries around 7:15 pm while the injured boy, Vedant, is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Goraguntepalya in the city.

Following the incident, Tavarekere police inspected the spot and registered a case based on a complaint filed by the parents of the deceased girl. The complainant stated that his brother's son and sister's daughter along with his daughter were on the way to their new house when a car driver entered the narrow street and swerved to the extreme right, running over his daughter and Vedant.
