B'luru crowned Burger capital of India, over 6 mn burgers ordered on Swiggy
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: Bengaluru has earned the title of the Burger Capital of India, with more than 6 million burgers ordered over the past year, according to Swiggy.
In celebration of International Burger Day 2024 on May 28, Swiggy revealed the latest burger ordering trends from the past year. Swiggy reported a substantial rise in burger orders, with nearly 40 million burgers ordered in the last year alone.
A burger lover from Chandigarh set a remarkable record by ordering 1,146 burgers, averaging around three burgers every day! Dinner and late-night hours were the peak times for burger indulgence, accounting for over 19.5 million orders.
Lunchtime followed with 9.6 million orders, a n d snack time saw more than 7.4 million orders. Following Bengaluru, Mumbai had close to 5 million orders, while Delhi trailed with over 3.2 million orders. Fries and Coke topped the list of accompaniments, while cheese slices and cheese dip were the favourite add-ons.
In other news, Swiggy announced that its quick commerce service, Swiggy Instamart, sold over 2,500 tonnes of mangoes. As the mango season peaks, Swiggy Instamart is witnessing a massive surge in demand for this beloved fruit.
From Bengaluru to Mumbai, mango mania is sweeping across cities, with nearly a million unique users trying over 14 different varieties. Bengaluru leads the pack with close to half a million orders, and one city user spends an impressive Rs 46,588 on mangoes.
