Notorious gang arrested by Nelamangala police

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: A notorious gang of five members including a juvenile, was arrested by the Nelamangala police on Wednesday for their alleged involvement in at least 20 criminal cases.

The accused identified by the police as Ashok, Vinod, Shivakumar and Santosh had formed a gang along with a juvenile.

The gang used to commit house breakin thefts, robberies, vehicle lifting and became habitual offenders giving nightmares to the residents of Bengaluru and the outskirts.

The gang was busted when two of the accused attempted to snatch a gold chain from a home maker in Basavanahalli under Nelamangala police station limits and were arrested.

Based on their confession, the police arrested the rest of the gang members and recovered Rs 18 lakh worth valuables and two motorcycles from them.

The accused were arrested earlier, but after coming out on bail, they continued to commit offences and pawn the stolen goods at gold loan shops and spend the money on their vices, the police added.
